frequently asked questions

How is Delta Epsilon Mu different from other pre-health organizations?

As a premier pre-health professional fraternity, we offer a national network of selected like minded individuals and host a supportive community to encourage personal and professional development.

How does recruitment work?

Delta Epsilon Mu reaches out to students of all backgrounds and pre-health interests during our recruitment period. We will host a variety of events to show you what we can offer you as a fraternity. You will get the chance to meet the current active members and ask them questions, learn more about our goals, and understand what it means to be a part of our family. In order to be considered for an interview, you will have to attend 2 recruitment events and 1 informational meeting. At the end of recruitment week, we will be offering individual interviews.

I am unsure if my circumstances are ideal to be a part of an organization like this - should I still go through the recruitment process?

Yes!  Our organization welcomes non-traditional students and has a support network to help students who are unsure if a professional fraternity is right for them. Recruitment week allows you to talk to current members about our experiences and meet with other organizations that we collaborate with as well.

I don't have a car on campus - how can I get to recruitment week events?

We will coordinate transportation to and from recruitment week events if necessary. Please email dem.wsudop@gmail.com for transportation inquires.

What do I wear/bring to the recruitment events?

Dress code for the recruitment events and info meeting is casual attire. Please follow a professional dress code for your interview. Bringing a resume to your interview is not required.

I really want to join this semester but I can't attend all recruitment week events due to schedule conflicts - Can I still participate?

If you can not make recruitment week events, please send an email to dem.wsudop@gmail.com and we will be able to meet with you to make you get the required information you need.

When will I hear about my bid?

Bids will be sent out via email by Sunday, September 13th. You will have 24 hours to inform us of your decision as there will be an extensive wait list.

What happens after I accept my bid?

You will be contacted by our Director of Prospects for the next step of your initiation into Delta Epsilon Mu. They will be working with you throughout the semester-long process to achieve active status.
